Music and Christmas

I found BBC Radio 1 yesterday, and now I'm kind of stuck. The trouble is that I can't read/do anything else while I'm listening, 'cos then I stop listening! I can't listen and understand English while I'm doing something else where I have to concentrate. It's easier with Swedish since I know it in another way.
It's Radio 1's Chart Show that's on now.

I've actually done my homework today. All of it. AND yesterday I began reading the book I'm supposed to be writing about in this English course. Or, well, I began ages ago, but now I've begun properly. Finally.

So it's the the first Sunday of Advent today. And yesterday we celebrated "Little Christmas" here in Finland, so I had the first Christmas dinner of this year. With the Christmas decoration in the house I've started to get that Christmas-feeling even thoush there's no snow, and it's really nice. It's just 20 more days 'til I can go home now, and I'm waiting!

This week I'll try to buy the last Christmas presents. I don't really have the money, so it's just gonna be presents for the family this year. So really, you don't have to think about what to give me, 'cos you don't have to give me anything.

New Blog

Today I made a new blog. For those of you who might be intrested in plans and thoughts and stuff about me moving to England 2010, and if you know Swedish you can read about it by clicking here! I'll start blogging about it there after a while. Might not be the most interesting stuff yet, and I'll probably not update that often until it gets closer to the time I'll move. But, yeah... :)

Think About It

Have you ever thought about what an amazing generation we are? And then I'm thinking about all the things we've experienced so far.

1. We've had the chance to experience parts of TWO millennia.
2. We've seen USA elect their first black president.
3. We're pretty good when it comes to using computers and other stuff like that.
4. Those of us who are living in an EU-country have the chance to move to any other EU-country and study or work there without that much trouble.
5. It's pretty easy for us to travel and see the world. It's almost like we're supposed to do that at some point in our life.
6. The equality of the genders are a lot better now than it was just a few years back.
7. Even younger people get the chance to say what they want, and we're making the adults listen to us. We more or less expect them to listen to us.

Yes. I am aware of the fact that most of these things aren't true for everyone from our generation. But you still have to admit it's happened a lot the past few years. And it doesn't matter what the older generations say about us, we aren't stupid and lazy and all that. We just look at the world from another point of view. And let's face it, when we grow up there will probably be a lot we have to deal with that aren't our fault in the beginning. Stuff that the older ones screwed up way back then... I guess we'll be just fine, 'cos we're smart.

And This is What I Miss

Yes. Now I know one thing that I miss about not having my old classmates with me anymore.

And that is talking about the teachers we used to have. You know, these small things like "Oh, do you remember when he/she did that?!" or "It reminds me of..."

And when you have to do a crossword (which doesn't happen that often) and you can't give the person next to you that "Oh my God, not a CROSSWORD!!!"-look.

We had to do a crossword last year. My first reaction was "HAHAHA!" (not out loud though), and then I realized no one else in the room understood the amusement in it. Big disappointment.

No one gets it even if you explain, 'cos that's something you have to experience to understand.

Fun Day

It's been a fun day today. ^^ First I've been lazy, and didn't do much at all. Went out and took some photos, and then in the evening two of my friends came here. We watched a film and talked a lot. Really nice!
Tomorrow I'll just do my homework and then relax. It's been a nice weekend. Not that I know what's gonna happen tomorrow, but I guess it's gonna be a good day.

I'm eating chocolate ice cream right now, even though I know I should get some proper food 'cos I'm hungry. But I can't be bothered. I like ice cream! And in about five minutes I'm gonna go and watch telly. And I SHOULD be reading those books for school.

Friday Night

Just like I wrote to Per today:
I feel a bit like I'm a sad person today. I'm sitting home alone on a Friday night, in my pyjamas, eating chocolate ice cream directly from the packet and I'm watching a TV-show about single mums who are looking for a partner.
Can it get any worse? xD Well, I just don't fancy doing anything at all today. I want to be lazy, and just stay at home doing nothing at all. But I just found it funny when I thought about how sad it would sound if I described what I was up to.

I love Fridays! <3

OH MY GOD!!!

LOOK AT THIS: !!!!!!

And that means I've passed my last Maths course!!
We're graded 4-10, 4 = failed, 10 = the best. I was SO sure I was gonna fail this test, 'cos I didn't really understand the course, and I didn't really understand the test. But by just writing, what felt like random stuff we've been doing in the course, I managed to get 25 points out of 42!

To get 7 in a course you didn't even understand, that is pretty good!

School

First day with the new schedule at school and I can already see a lot of my free time disappear. The good thing is that it's interesting subjects, so I think I'll cope just fine. But I'll be tired. Really tired.

Soo, the subjects I've got now are Maths, English, Swedish, Religion and History. Yeah, and Sports, of course. Yes, I still hate it.

I've got real trouble falling asleep, so I'm soooo tired when it's time to wake up!! Annoying as hell... But except for that, and the fact that the rain is pouring down and I can't take a walk, life is pretty much okay right now. I can't really complain.

Now I think I'll make a big cup of tea and do some homework. I'm freezing, and really tired, so hopefully that'll help.

Texting

Sandra: Apparently Pippi Longstocking is on the boat too. :P I'd like to see a male Pippi here some time! x)

Per: Hahaha! xD

Sandra: "Mum, why does Pippi have a beard? :O"

Per: "She's been taking testosterone. That's also the reason she's so strong."

The Election

It doesn't matter what news homepage or newspaper you pick up, you'll see SOMETHING about the election in USA. I promised NOT to get involved, at all. And at least not write anything about it in my blog. I don't care. Or, I don't want to care. But it's hard not to when you've heard so much bad stuff about one of the candidates, that I just have to say that I wish Obama wins!

Quite a few have been saying that Obama might win, but he won't live for very long. Isn't that just a bit too pessimistic? Yes, I know it might be the truth, but I hope not.
Just let him win, and don't kill him guys! You can't just go around killing people you don't like. This is 2008 for God's sake!

Of some reason I feel a bit unsure when it's election in the States, I don't know why. Maybe 'cos it's such a big country and since they sometimes seems to think they own the world, they can get pretty dangerous if the wrong guy is leading them. We can't just ignore the fact that it's a country with a lot of power. No matter how much we hate it.

Very annoying song, but it's been stuck in my head for a while now! And since this have been about the election, I feel like I can pass it one to you, so I'm not the only one who's got it stuck in my head! xD

I Shouldn't Be Sitting Here Right Now

The studying is going sooo well. Not... It's really nice weather today, so I went out for a while, and now I would like to go out and take some photos. But I can't. Instead I'm sitting here, and I'm coming up with things I just HAVE to do. Studying isn't on the list, though. I pick up the book, but then I remember that oh, I have to check my e-mail 'cos...ehm...'cos...I'm waiting for a very very important mail!! Or I have to check if someone's updated their blog! I come up with these really, really stupid excuses.

I really shouldn't read all those blogs about people who have moved to England. I feel so jealous! I know I've only got about 1½ year left, but sometimes it just feels like I could drop everything and move now.
But those blogs do some good too, they make me happy and motivated to do good in school. And try to make time go faster.

Now I should read some history. Or maybe I want a cup of tea? Or watch that film I borrowed...?
